We became a limited company in 1999 and have now grown into one of the best performing ISP’s in the UK.
In 2006, we were acquired by hSo, a managed IT services provider that provides hosting,
internet connectivity, telephony and data security services.
We own all of our servers, the majority of which are Linux based,
although we do have a few Windows systems. Linux servers are
preferred as they are generally more secure and easier to
maintain. Our engineers have experience in most flavours of
UNIX and Windows. The servers we use are mainly PC based
although we use Sun servers for our backup servers and software
development. We prefer CISCO equipment for all of our switches
and routers - our networks are all fully switched and we also
have multiple border routers for resilience.
We are a LIR (Local Internet Registry), due to being a member of
RIPE NCC. We are also a tag holder and member of Nominet,
allowing us to register domain names with the .uk suffix.
Additionally we are UKERNA approved, which enables us to register
and host .ac.uk and .gov.uk domains.
We peer with over 200 other ISP’s and Telco's by being members
of LINX, LIPEX, AmsIX, FreeIX.
As such, we are a Tier 2 ISP, specialising in providing
infrastructure for other Tier 2 and Tier 3 ISP’s. We own racks in
Telehouse North and Telehouse East, and Redbus in the London
Docklands and at Manchester University Computing Centre. Additionally we can provide transit feeds (Internet bandwidth)
anywhere in the UK.
Although we specialise in co-location and dedicated servers, we also
provide the full range of ISP services e.g. web hosting, web design,
ADSL, etc., all of which can be found within the Services section of
